Collection_#1, 2023. image generation software.
Collection_#1 refers to a bundle of stolen passwords consisting of 773 million distinct entries separated across thousands of text files. The collection surfaced on forums dedicated to serving new batches of stolen information, and signifies a turn towards large re-packages of existing data for mass attempts at account infiltration. Years later, Collection_#1 can be easily found on file sharing websites by simply knowing the names of various cryptic folders.
The program opens Collection_#1 and traverses randomly. Each entry it stumbles upon places a colored block on the field. Traditional password security guidelines determine which percentage of the remaining height it is permitted to occupy, and the variance of each character from the median character in the set determines each character's color.
